BERMONDSEY, 8.E.
March 2nd. 1922.
I have much pleasure in supporting the application of Miss D. Kirkkan, B.A., for a post as assistant mistress in a Secondary School. Miss Kirkhan came to me as a "supply" mistress five terms ago when I we making some temporary appointments owing
The
to great increase in numbers, and has stayed on since then. question of her leaving has now arisen because the L.C.C. are outting down staffs and it may be necessary to transfer a mistress in the permanent service to Miss Kirkham's post here. I shall
be very sorry to lose Kiss Kirkħan and I believe she has no desire to leave. She has done good work here, teaching and organising the Latin throughout the school: we began in 1920 to introduce the subject more fully and Miss Kirkahan tackled the problem keenly and successfully. She is a very careful teacher and handles her olasses well. I have found her very nice to deal with, ready to take advice and keen on the best interests of the girls. has also taught Mathematics to several forms and been a good Form

Mistress of Form Lower V A. She could very well take English as it is a subject in which she has specialised. She has musical gifts and has helped us with accompanying. She is also keen on games,
I recommend her warmly.
